Abstract
The present research is a documentary analysis of the articles published in biannual journal of Islamic education. In this investigation 20 issues of the journal, including 151 articles, were analyzed. The findings revealed that all the references were 4023 which showed average of 26.64 for each article. Most of the references were books, 72.6%, articles, 20.8%, respectively. Regarding the language of the references, Farsi sources were 60.3%, and English sources 19.7%, respectively. The most old books were Latin , 16 years and1 month, and the newest was Farsi , 8 years and 4 months. The most referenced books were Quran, Al Mizan Fi Altafsir, and Nahjolbakagheh; the most referenced scholars were Mohammad Hosein Tababtabaie, Morteza Motahari, and Khosro Bagheri. The most referenced journals were Islamic education, Howzah and Univresity, and Knowledge. Self-citation rate for the authors was 2% of the total references.
