Abstract

Spiritual approaches can be investigated from both religious and non-religious perspectives. The main aim of this paper is to analyze and criticize spiritual educational approaches in the camp of non-religious spiritual believers. In doing so, the three newborn approaches, namely, the reduction of religion to morality, integrality and one-sidedness, are analyzed. Then, the goals and presuppositions of spiritual education in these approaches are investigated. Eventually, it is shown that from the perspective of structures (lack of ensuring stability, limited vision, attempt to get formal while opposing it, lack of adaptation with present realities of human existence )  and methodology (based on the methodology used in the three approaches) these approaches, though initially and continually successful, in the long run, woudl face difficulties; the reasons for such problems are lack of  the structure compatible with the existential conditions of human beings and weakness of the suggested methods for fulfilling the aims
