A Comprehensive and Limited Approach toward Religion and its Impact on Education

Author

Abstract

The present article seeks to assess comprehensive and limited approaches towards
religion and its impact on the science of education. First of all these two approaches
towards religion are carefully studied. Since there is naturally a possible difference
between the advocates of every approach, advocates of the comprehensive approach
are classed under three names of a) encyclopedic, b) innovative, and c) eclectic, just
as the advocates of the limited approach are also divided into three divisions as they
stress either a) the other world, b) judgment and purification or, c) indirect
involvement. The article finally studies the role of religion in producing educational
science on the basis of each one of these attitudes.
