The effects of fathering role on religious education of children among Mashhadi families

Abstract

Due to the economic, social and cultural changes in the society, the relations of family members especially those of father and children, nowadays have been changed. Therefore, this article is an attempt to scrutinize the effects of fathering role on the religious education of the children. The methodology of this research is survey questionnaire and the population includes all the families in Mashhad. this research examines the effects of  fathering role in the dimensions of playing, emotion and education, provider of services, supporting, caring, identity formation, and social and psychic education on religious education. The validity and reliability of the questionnaire was calculated and the data were gathered through direct interviews.
The findings reveal that the presuppositions of the research are confirmed and the playing, emotional and educative, providing services, supporting , identity forming, caring and eventually the social education roles have meaningful effect on religious education role of father and the caring role has been reported to have no effect.  The results of the study delineates that in the current families, the multi-task role of father have great effects on the education of the children and should be seriously, through education and culturalization, considered.
