Abstract

Case studies on women and men who have had conflict in their common life indicate that unrealistic attitudes to marital life, weakness of ethics, lack of relation skills and lack of information about sexual problems all have affected their life. Also, research shows that right and exhaustive educations on life goal, attitudes and believes, ethical as well as relation skills and familiarity with sexual problems, have good mental education impacts on couples and have been effective in conflict reduction and improvement of their relations.
This article aims to study results of Tradition-based educations in mentioned fields on 20 spouses (10 couples) who have referred to Center of Islamic Research and Counseling (located in Qom) and participated in such courses.
Methodology: After diagnostic interview and doing pre-test, couples were given necessary education in group or individually. Then, a post-test was performed. The first post-test was done two weeks after education and the second was done after five weeks. Afterwards, a comparison was made between findings of first post-test and pre-test. Furthermore, the second post-test was compared with the first one.
The comparison of findings demonstrates that psychological educations were effective in the improvement of couples’ relations and reduction of their conflicts. In addition, the present study indicated that even education of either spouses (man or woman) has been also effective in reducing conflict of their marital life. Also, it was found that such educations have had long-term influences on reduction of conflict between couples.
