The aim of this study is presentation of the effects of globalization on the identity formation of teenagers. It is a fundamental-theoretical research which uses descriptive-analytical methodology and the data is intellectually-logically analyzed. To gather the data, library research was carried out and the sources used are both written and non-written. The following questions are answered in this research: What is the purpose of globalization and cultural globalization? What is religious identity and the effects it might undergo? What are the effective elements on identity formation and what are the obstacles to get it? What is the role of religion in the era of globalization? Finally, as the increase of Islamic awakening in the Islamic world, some guidelines for gaining this identity are proposed.
