Abstract

In today's world, effective communication skills are crucial for enhancing family life and creating a positive environment. Given the country's culture rooted in religious and Alavi traditions, Nahj al-Balagha serves as a valuable resource. This research aims to develop a model for improving communication skills within families based on its teachings. A grounded theory approach was utilized as a qualitative research strategy, involving a coding process that included open, axial, and selective coding, resulting in 30 identified codes. The study explored causal and contextual conditions affecting communication, highlighting a central category that became the core of the proposed strategies. To ensure validity and reliability, an independent coding strategy was implemented, with multiple expert researchers coding independently. Consensus was achieved with codes endorsed by over 160 coders. The findings revealed that enhancing camaraderie and patience when facing challenges, maintaining good ethics during adversities, and expressing love and affection verbally can significantly improve relationships among family members. Emphasizing mutual understanding and respect, recognizing the family as a foundation for community growth, and strengthening communications and kinship ties are vital principles for withstanding difficult times and promoting patience. Moreover, building trust and fidelity, along with fostering understanding through collaboration, cultivates a positive atmosphere within the family, ultimately strengthening emotional and social bonds. The research indicates that the teachings of Nahj al-Balagha can be effectively used to enhance communication skills and foster emotional ties within families, contributing to a more cohesive family unit and a supportive environment.
