Abstract

The aim of this article is to systematically reconstruct and analyze Khwaja Nasir al-Din Tusi's view on the role of the teacher in the educational process, based on his value-based, anthropological, and epistemological foundations. The research method is qualitative content analysis and logical reconstruction based on a set of key works, including "Discovery of the Meaning," "The Basis of Quotation," "Akhlaq Nasiri," "Anis al-Talibin," "Awsaf al-Ashraf," "Aghaz wa Anjam," "Sharh al-Ishaarat wa al-Tanbihat," "Talkhis al-Muhasal," and "Ustad al-Bashr." The findings show that the teacher in Tusi's intellectual system has a multi-layered and coherent role: in the epistemological layer, as the actualizer of the monstrous intellect and the guide of reason; in the value-based layer, as the mediator of grace and the link to the source of existence; in the ethical-practical layer, the role of the instructor as a spiritual physician and practical model; and in the mystical layer, existential unity with the trainee and his guidance towards extinction. As a result, Tusi's perspective presents a comprehensive picture of the teacher, in which the teacher is not merely a transmitter of information, but also a "reminder" of the forgotten nature, a "guide" on the path to perfection, a "path" for the seeker, and a "builder of the soul" of the learner. This reconstruction can provide a theoretical model for the philosophy of Islamic education and contemporary educational systems. The limitation of the research is the lack of an independent work by Khawaja in this field and the necessity of extracting and integrating his scattered opinions in numerous works.
