The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the stories from Fatima’s lifestyle on the moral development of students using the philosophy for children program. The study was applied in terms of its purpose and quasi-experimental in terms of method. In this study, a pre-test/post-test design was used with control and experiment groups. The statistical population of the study consisted of all sixth grade female students in Shahrbabak primary schools. They were selected using random sampling and randomly assigned to two groups of 112 subjects. The data gathering tool was a researcher-made questionnaire with a five-point Likert scale. The validity of the questionnaire was obtained through the Delphi method. The reliability of the questionnaire was obtained using Cronbach's alpha test, which indicates a high or acceptable reliability (more than 0.8). In this research, the components of moral development were as follows: righteousness, acceptance of responsibility, helping others, honesty, keeping one's promise and forgiving the mistakes of others. The data obtained were analyzed using the parameters of descriptive and inferential statistics in SPSS software. In analyzing the data, in the level of descriptive statistics, we used percentage of compression frequency, central index and dispersion; and in the level of inferential statistics, we used independent t-test and the comparative test of independent t-test and uni-variable t-test. Using these tests, the ranking of the variables was done on the basis of separate items for each of the moral components. The results showed that using stories based on Hazrat Fatima’s way of life in P4C program and using the circle called community of inquiry had a positive effect on the children’s moral growth. The researcher’s suggestion is using indigenous stories taken from the Islamic culture along with role-model personages for moral education of the children.
