This study aims to conduct a content analysis of Qur’anic verses on taqwa in order to identify cognitive and motivational strategies effective in the process of inner transformation. Using a thematic content analysis method with an interpretive approach, the research explores theoretical strategies for the realization of taqwa within the domain of human self-relation, seeking to clarify the role of intrapersonal components in the formation and consolidation of Qur’anic taqwa. All verses containing the term taqwa, along with their immediate context, have been examined, and their exegetical concepts have been extracted through reliable sources. The findings demonstrate that taqwa in the Qur’an possesses a dual-structural nature, emerging from the interplay between the reform of insight and worldview and spiritual motivation. Cognitive strategies account for 62 percent, encompassing a rational reflection on creation and divine blessings, lessons from past events and future-oriented thinking, and the strengthening of vision coupled with intellectual flexibility. Motivational strategies, comprising 38 percent, include spiritual awe (khashyah), sincerity, reliance upon God (tawakkul), and recourse (tawassul). The Qur’an’s predominant emphasis on the correction of perceptions and cognitive structures indicates that, in the view of revelation, the human being is a free and perception-driven entity whose path to taqwa begins with the awakening of reason and the transformation of outlook. At the same time, the motivational components highlight that the Qur’an considers steadfastness in self-purification to be contingent upon motivations rooted in knowledge and spirituality. The synthesis of these two dimensions presents a systematic model of religious education that emphasizes not merely abstinence from sin, but also continuous self-vigilance and living within the orbit of servitude to God.
