Objective: The present study aims to identify the dimensions of classroom management based on Nahj al-Balagha and present a proposed model for training teacher students.
Methodology: This qualitative research employed qualitative content analysis with an inductive approach. The research domain was Ibn Abi al-Hadid's commentary on Nahj al-Balagha, translated by Dr. Mahmoud Mahdavi Damghani (including aphorisms, letters, sermons, etc.). The sample for this research was purposefully selected from letters in which Amir al-Mu'minin (Imam Ali) conversed with administrators of the Islamic society. Subsequently, through repeated study of the selected letters, those pertaining to management, and especially classroom management, were chosen. In the coding phase, using the thematic analysis method, the management concepts and meanings hidden within these letters were identified and categorized. Ultimately, this research extracted 4 main dimensions (physical management, psychological-emotional management, behavioral management, educational methods management) and 9 indicators (order and rules, planning, environmental control and management, beliefs and attitudes, attention to psychological-emotional issues, dealing with negative behaviors, individual teacher characteristics, social behaviors and communications, teaching methods and techniques) as key elements of classroom management based on Nahj al-Balagha.
Findings: The findings of this research indicate that utilizing the principles of Nahj al-Balagha in classroom management can, in addition to improving the quality of learning, lay the groundwork for training a generation with a correct understanding of Islamic values.
Results: This research can serve as an indigenous and practical model for teachers and educational policymakers to promote the educational system.
