Abstract
In contemporary society, the transmission of religious values to adolescents faces numerous complexities due to social, cultural, and cognitive changes. This study aimed to analyze the challenges parents encounter in transmitting religious values to adolescents and to propose solutions. The research employed a qualitative approach based on descriptive phenomenology. The sample consisted of 15 parents of adolescents (aged 13-18 years), selected through purposeful sampling until theoretical saturation was reached. The data collection tool was in-depth interviews. The findings revealed that the challenges can be classified into four main categories: 1) generational gap and differences in worldviews, 2) social and cultural challenges, 3) communicational and psychological challenges, and 4) structural and environmental challenges. The primary barriers identified included adolescent resistance to religious values due to interpretative differences, the influence of cyberspace and media, the lack of communication skills among parents, and social and cultural conflicts. The study concluded that for the successful transmission of religious values, parents need to enhance their communication skills and adopt educational methods tailored to the needs of adolescents. Furthermore, educational and religious institutions must play a more active role in reinforcing religious values to prevent a religious identity crisis among the new generation.
