Methodological doubt: a method for belief education

Abstract

The aim of this study is the elucidation of methodological doubt as a method for
belief education. The Methodology used in this study is descriptive-analytical and
inferential and the data were gathered from libraries. As the title is adapted from
Cartesian methodological doubt, this method has been firstly introduced and
followed by Gazelle's perspective briefly. The challenge of inspiration versus belief
education, desired and undesired uncertainty, certainty and doubt in Islam and ways
of removing them, the what of belief education and its importance are the issues
discussed in this article. The findings revealed that application of methodological
doubt in belief education leads to respecting others' freedom , options of instructors,
development of critical thinking of the learners, thinking instead of memorizing
others' thoughts, prevention of bias and invitation to dialogue, and achievement of
mental peace and thought certainty
